Tons of new products and more coming daily

02/23/2010

As you may know, the winter NAMM show is a huge deal within the music industry for not only the musical instrument manufacturers but also for the dealers of their instruments. The reason is that the manufacturers debut new gear a the show and the dealers buy a ton of it to sell to you and me. In short, the new year also bring tons of new musical toys. American Musical Supply typically adds a steady stream of these new items to the site from the moment our crew gets back. If you’re anything like me and love drooling over new gear, check out the NAMM 2010 products in one place, right here!

I Got my Audio Gear!

02/17/2010

Ok, so this weekend was filled with excitement for me. I made an offer on a sound system which consists of 4 EAW KF850, 3-way full-range cabinets, 2 EAW SB850, dual 18′ subwoofer cabinets and an insane compliment of 2 Crest Audio CA18 amps as well as 2 Crest Audio CA6 amps an more. The system was used and stored in an outbuilding for the past few years so it endured the Minnesota seasons in a space that was not climate controlled. I just got the system to my house on Sunday and started testing and cleaning the electronic processors and found issues right away. Nothing serious as of yet but the batteries in the EAW MX8600 processors appear to have failed, at least that is what the processor is telling me. I did get it powered up and loaded some cabinet settings, stored them, powered down, then back up and the setting is still there so maybe it was just acclimating to my house. That’s it for now, more info to come as I keep testing!

Yeeehaw!

Happy New Year Y’all

01/05/2010

Well, we made it yet another year without any serious incidents other than a near total bust on New Years Eve. I was running sound and lights for a band and expected a good turnout but unfortunately for the band, only about 40 people paid to see them play. Regardless of how many people were there though, the band still sounded great, the lights looked good and my mix was the best that I have done to date. On a completely unrelated not, We at American Musical Supply are having an End of the Year Blowout sale. Check out the discounted merchandise but hurry, the deals won’t last forever. That’s all I have for now people, thanks for stopping by and reading Gearblog…cheers to another year!

Quick Update!

12/30/2009

Ok, well, the holiday literally kicked my butt. I had 2 live sound gigs within 2 days of each other. That means I set up the system, ran sound, tore it down, then set up another system, ran sound then actually came back later in the week to tear down the 2nd system so I guess you could say I had a busy holiday. I wouldn’t have had it any other way though because I was working doing what I love and making money to boot. Aah, the joys of working in the best industry ever. Now, enough of my jabber-jawing…I wanted to update you on some current happenings here at American Musical Supply. We have a Year End Warrior sale going on right now and if you aren’t signed up to receive our emails, you had better get your butt over to the home page and get signed up or you could miss out on some killer deals. Do it!
