Long Weekend Made for a Happy Monday

Well folks, it was my son, Simon’s 1st birthday last Friday and I took the day off to celebrate it with him and my wife. It was tons of fun and exciting for him. He got so many gifts from friends and family that I’ll need to build an addition on the back side of my house just to hold everything. Ok, I’m kidding, sort of. Anyway, I realize that Simon is only a 1 year old but I just can’t help but think about getting him a Ludwig Junior 5 Piece Drum Set with Cymbals. Now, I honestly do not think “pinginess” is even a word but I couldn’t care less. Now, on with the gear drooling. I got notification today of a new and very interesting piece of equipment, the Zildjian K Heavy Ride Cymbal. This beast is crafted for use in any musical genre thanks to its heavy weight. It offers a lower pitched ping with very tight stick definition and detail, suitable for any style of play from super fast punk beats to slow and soft jazz. Okay people, get ready for this one, it’s a doosie. I have here, the Sonor Special Edition Rock20 5 Piece Shell Kit Drum Set and it is priced at an ultra-low $299.97. This kit is built using 9 ply basswood shells with black powder coated low mass tuning lugs and hoops for great sound and a professional look and feel. What better way to keep your learning drummer interested in playing their instrument than getting them something they will never grow out of. Not only is this a great beginner kit but it is also stage-worthy in all respects. The basswood shells provide balanced sound with lots of power and plenty of sustain. Keep in mind here people that this is a shell kit only so you will have to pick up a hardware package but we have some great deal in that area as well. Here we go again folks, I’ve stumbled upon a really good deal on the AMS site and figured I had better share it or I’d feel bad. So, here it is. This one is for the drummers or players needing a good throne to sit on that won’t cost a fortune. With that in mind, I present to you the Yamaha DS616B Drum Throne. Talk about an incredible value, this bad boy is double braced and actually features adjustable height that is not based on a number of holes drilled through the post. Yes, you can adjust the height of this throne to every conceivable height within its limit, of course. The throne seat easily separates from the post for storage and transport. Happy Monday everybody…I hope not many of you have a case of the Mondays otherwise I’m in for some sweet comments on this post.
