Providing the same great tube tone and compact head design as its predecessor, the Shuttle 6.0, Shuttle 9.0 adds additional power with exceptional headroom and responsive feel. Featuring a Class D amplifier and SMPS module, the Shuttle 9.0 is further enhanced by Genz Benz’ Patent Pending P.H.A.T. (Proprietary Heat Abatement Technology) topology, delivering robust and reliable, high output performance in a compact 4 lb chassis.

Get even more punch out of your bass gear

07/28/2009

Bassists of most skill levels know without question the key to getting the ultimate punch out of their bass rigs 57201EBSMultiCompPedaland that is compression. It limits the amount of dynamic range allowed to pass into the bass amplifier and therefore it keep an extremely uniform and hot level all the time. This is especially good for rock and metal music where the detail of the bass should be heard without it becoming overpowering when the bassist plays harder for certain passages. A noteworthy compression pedal for bassists has to be the EBS MultiComp Compressor Pedal. Brought to you by the bass amplification specialists at EBS, this pedal with any rig will bring your tone to a new level of clarity and punch. The EBS MultiComp Compressor is a high performance, analog compressor pedal, with a choice between solid state, tube simulation and multi-band compression. Compact and perfect for anyone’s pedal board, the MultiComp can make a good sounding instrument sound even better. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll never want to play without it! Check it out for yourself, you’ll be glad you did. Thanks for reading!

Punishing Bass Power in a Compact Combo Design

07/21/2009

Just when you though you would never be able to downsize your bass rig, something like the Ibanez P5110 Promethean Bass Guitar Combo Amplifier comes along to give bassists more options to scale back their ibanezprometheangigantic rigs to something more portable and manageable. Now, granted, most bassists are likely similar to my bassist and swear that they will never get the tone that their 8×10 cabinet delivers but I’m of the mind that they are crazy. Tone is not measured in magnitude and does not necessarily require a huge cabinet to create that ideal tone. In fact, many studio recordings utilize small bass amplifiers and cabinets because like I said before, it isn’t the size that makes the tone. Let’s take a closer look at the tiny tone giant called the Promethean, shall we? Packing a power section of up to 500 watts with the optional extension cabinet connected and 250 with the built-in, 10 inch subwoofer speaker, this puppy gets loud either way you set it up! The Promethean also has a high frequency dome tweeter with passive crossover for detailed highs. A 6-band graphic EQ with bass and treble shelving tone controls is also provided so you can dial up the tone you want with ease. Other features include an auxiliary input and balanced XLR line output for simple direct connection to a mixer in a live performance situation. Check this little giant out for yourself, I have a feeling that you will not be disappointed.
