At American Musical Supply, we are constantly trying to keep our inventory fresh and new by adding new items all the
time. One of the newest items to be added is an exceptional value for the guitarist looking for incredible sound and tonal versatility. Many players want to be able to have right projection while finger picking and a nice crisp attack when playing with a pick. Unfortunately not all instruments carry both tonal options; however the Guild GAD M20E Acoustic Electric Guitar with Case has the best of both worlds. Let’s dig right in to this fantastic instrument and see if we can figure out its secret.
The first thing I noticed is that the M20E has a body constructed entirely of Mahogany. No solid spruce top or laminated back or sides, all mahogany. This is great for versatility. Mahogany is a very responsive tonewood and speaks differently depending on how hard you hit the strings. The neck is made sing mahogany as well but the fingerboard is rosewood providing crisp detail. The electronics installed are from none other than Fishman which in my opinion is among the best there is. It features the Fishman Matrix under-saddle pickup with endpin jack. All these features in a quality instrument for only $749 and change, awesome!

Mahogany is a great type of wood for guitars. It makes the instrument give off great sound, and it’s durable too. You can’t go wrong with a guitar that’s made of mahogany.
